Many people believe the CogAT, or Cognitive Abilities Test, is similar to an IQ test and cannot be prepared for, but only taken. However, this is partly untrue. Read each question carefully. The quickest and easiest way to fail an important test is to speed through it. Taking your time on the test allows you to reflect on the question to ensure you understand completely what it is asking. You also might be saving yourself from overlooking a word that is detrimental to the meaning of the question.
